Dulc-i-tone is label subsidiary #2, dedicated to the softer, and maybe slightly more 'adult' side of the Yakamashi family. Odd considering our admitted lack of maturity, Dulc-i-tone has been more active of late, with not one but TWO releases. VERY FEW LEFT |
Fate? Luck? Karma? Not sure, but somehow we got blessed by an angel who's gotta have the word McGuinn in his name somewhere for this kind of happenstance. Anyway, 500 of these got pressed in the U.K. and our hard-hitting A&R got another 500 for us, and they pretty much all went to Japan. Completely mysterious band with 4 near-perfect hushd pop songs who, as a result of this fine piece of art, were offered tons of cash and then disappeared without a trace. The story behind this one warrants more storytelling, so I'll 'get on that right away'. We've got a couple saved just for you, so get your act together. |

WE GOT SOME
|
This is the vinyl version of this Detroit band's brilliant debut CD on Kill Rock Stars. The staff here at Yakamashi was totally enthralled after seeing this band live in Detroit a few years back -- they looked like the Runaways and sounded like Sarah from the Shop Assistants fronting Galaxie 500. Can you beat that? We went all out on this one; it's packaged like a dance record with a hole in the sleeve, but the cover's silkscreened with a pretty flower on it and the inner labels are all numbered, from 1 to 500. We did the works with mastering too, so it sounds terrific -- even better than the CD. They've got a new one out too, but what the fuck, I'm not Daddy Warbucks or anything. |
