Xmas Ducati wish list

Posted by DaveSmith

Howdy, Does anyone out there have a a round headlight assembly, a tach drive kit, and a spare set of points? Oh, and a Scottoiler. I'm switching back to 6 volt and want a round Aprilia headlight. If you can help, email me and we can work out arrangements. My bike leaves for New Zealand Feb. 2 and shows up in Christchurch Feb. 22 so I'm hoping for a Jan delivery. Other than that, I'm doing fine. Brook at Vee Two helped me out on my bike and it's running great. We'll see how long before I F it up again...

I'm still in Perth at Tony's house with his 5 kids. I'll be here through Xmas and should leave on Boxing Day.

Happy Holidays for the lot of you...

I have no gifts for you, Mr. Smith (well- I could send you some eggnog but it would be really nasty by the time it got there).

But for anyone who's reading this from a direct link, Dave's email address is toward the upper left on the main page (under the main picture) or email gornzilla@gmail.com

and to you, Crazy American!

Davey, if you have to be away from home, I cannot think of a better place to spend the holiday than with another family, with tons of kids. We'll see what we can do about parts, and do not forget the crazy Bulb guy for the new light. Cheers!

Merry Christmas Dave! We're all glad to know you're still in one piece. Sounds like you are having quite the adventure. Lydia wants you to say hi to the Wiggles for her (ask the kids you are staying with if you don't know who they are). She saw a motorcycle with a stuffed turtle strapped to the back the other day...now she doesn't wonder how a monkey can ride one. Aaron says maybe you should buy a 10 speed. I showed my dad this site and the pics of your motorcycle, and he said, "Those are nice bikes but hard to get parts for". Have fun.

hey dave- merry christmas! i was gonna send you a card, but it'd be half past january before you got it... so just happy christmas to yer.

dawned on me the other day that now you're THAT guy. you know, the one we always read about.. the one who walked across the United States or climbed Everest with only one arm or rode a bicycle from europe to China or drove a 40 year old sickle around the world, dodging seizures. THAT guy. the one all the rest of us just sit and read about and wonder what the fuck he was thinking and then think what the fuck are WE doing?

like they say at the UN, 'Saluto!'

Merry christmas from one perl-ishly inclined peep to another...

Dave-

Merry Christmas! Gotta echo Tim's sentiment in terms of telling my fellow office troll that I know a guy riding around the world on an old motorcycle, they either tend to think that you're a little suspect, therefore because I know you I'm a little suspect or that I've had the opportunity to touch the hem of a god. Either way, I'm a little envious of the adventures you're having and the stories you'll have to tell. Just keep the rubber side down, eh?

Lemme see what I can do about digging up a light. Does it have to be Apprillia, or could it also be a CEV? Lemme know the dimensions- 6" round, and all that. I might have what you need. I also have a cable oiler that I can send if you can score the can of aerosol oil with the skinny red straw doohickey like on WD40 to insert into the oiler. It's the size of half a Tic Tac box, but makes it so you can oil the cables without completely removing them, it clamps around the end of the outer and forces oil thru the whole length of the cable when you insert previously mentioned red doohickey in the oiler and spray.

Anyway- let me know if either of these things will be of use, and where to send and I'll get them on their way along with Peanut M&M's or whatever Americanism strikes your fancy.

The girls got bikes, Ben got a snowboard and there ain't no heat in the Blair Witch House right now. You're probably better off in OZ.
Still ..... it's not the same without you!

miss you!
